Important Update: Preschool Open Doors Applications
Preschool Open Doors (POD) applications for 2-year-olds will not open on January 1, 2026.
- Applications for this age group will be accepted after the proposed Hawaii Administrative Rules for POD are adopted.
- Please check back in early 2026 for updates on applying for 2-year-olds and for the 2026-2027 application timeline.
The 2025-2026 POD application period for 3- and 4- year-olds will close at 4:30 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time (HST) on January 30, 2026 or until funding capacity is reached.
Any applications submitted to the department after 4:30 p.m. HST on January 30, 2026 will be marked as received on February 2, 2026 and denied.
